Festival Fete – Local Art Anywhere

Festival fete logo, festival fete RI, local artists, local artisans, local art anywhereFestival Fete creates amazing local community art festivals but even if you’re not a Rhode Islander, you can still enjoy the contemporary American craft artists that Festival Fete features.

At the June festival with over 140 artists, live music, strolling entertainment, free kids’ crafts and local foods, I met some fantastic artisans and want to share some with you.

Monica Rodgers through her company Little Bits by Monica Rodgers makes the cutest car seat covers for infants and toddlers! I love this idea so you can wash the cover and not deal with taking all those buckles in and out – perfect way to manage crumbs and spills while keeping your car seats neater! (Wish I had these for my little car sick thrower-uppers!)

festival fete vendors, festival fete artists, patterned peacock, tshirt skirts The Patterned Peacock creates “prints for your home filled with color and character.” I loved the designs she used and so many would be perfect in a baby’s nursery or a child’s bedroom.

Here are two very similar skirts made all out of recycled shirts. Jupiter Girl skirts are “cool skirts handmade from 100% recycled tees.” They are double layered and very well made. I also like Look at Me Designs which makes a different style single-layer skirt from old T-shirts as well as other apparel items. I wore my nautical-colored skirt for 4th of July and got compliments all day long!

Lotus Life “is all about living your life with a lotus-like mind and heart, taking all of the powerful teachings and symbolism of a lotus and allowing yourself to be mindful, compassionate, and open in your life.” They design T-shirts perfect for Moms and yogi Moms!

Check out these upcycled kids’ clothes from Margaret DeBruin, she makes winter hats, sun hats, dresses, hoodies, mittens and other accessories all made from recycled fabrics.

Airmeith Naturals is “committed to creating distinctive products that delight the senses and soothe the soul, while respecting the planet and promoting health and well-being in our daily lives.” Their handcrafted gifts include herbal therapy pillows, chakra, perfume and massage oils, sachets, teas, creams, powders, salts and more.

I love the photographer Diana Brennan whose images are “art inspired by science.” Her images are clean andfestival fete local art anywhere, local art, festival fete artisans, festival fete, lotus tshirts, lotus symbol, feather photographs beautiful and you can get them on a iPhone cover to carry with you! I particularly love the starfish and the feathers.

You can access Mon Petit Tresor RI, a term of endearment which means “My Little Treasure” in French, from anywhere through their etsy shop. They sell creative, fun headbands, accessories, clothing and decor like nursery art and mobiles.

For cute bibs and other kiddo apparel, Fawn Over Me is “where vintage style marries fresh, colorful design.” There is a fun selection of items all upcycled with vintage style.

I’m grateful that Festival Fete is local for me, I attend the winter Holiday Market each year and it’s become a special day to spend with my daughter. One year, I bought a unique bracelet of buttons another we got really neat hair clips. We love to buy gifts of local jewelry, accessories, clothing and crafts. I never leave empty-handed!
